I’ve said this time and again, but Jermy Hilton’s “Fire” is always an incredible gift, filled with new names and exciting work from all over the world. This issue, for instance, tops out at 392 pages and is an anthology of poems in translation. I’m still reading through, but so far I’ve encountered wonderful translations from the Icelandic, German, Dutch, Chinese.
Check out the “Fire” website at www.poetical.org
More on this issue, later.

Family Secret
by Rich Murphy

Paper, 31 pages. $14.00.
Family Secret is a collection of quietly accomplished poems, some prize-winners. This is a pretty good introduction to the range and style of Rich Murphy’s work.

Good news to report: Exhibit C by Jane Nakagawa and Eye-sensing by David Jaffin have been published and are on the way to SPD and Dan. Great news is that Yoko Danno’s retelling of the Kojiki can be found at SPD and in Maruzen books, Japan.
It’s great to have my voice back after a brief checking out of the website. More news coming.
What we’re reading at the moment:
Overtime–Poems by Philip Whalen.
Pieces of a Song–Diane di Prima
Poetics of the Pretext; Reading Lautreamont–Roland-Francois Lack
Elementary Morality–Poems by Raymond Queneau–Translated by Ahadada’s own Philip Terry! Congrats!
Sabbatai Sevi; The Mystical Messiah–Gershom Scholem.
